The "Hurry Up" offense didn't seem to bother Florida too much, so what was the use?

I felt like the OU players lost momentum, had they just snapped the ball they blowing out the Florida defenders, one of those time where coaches just over think it.

Any kind of gimmick offense is going to struggle in a bowl game where the defense has 5 weeks to prepare. This is the worst element to the bowl system (even worse than the lack of a playoff). These games are nothing like the football that is played all season on 1-2 weeks prep time. Just imagine if the NFL playoffs reached the superbowl and then took a break until march. Florida said they spent a month practicing against the no-huddle and that the OU offense was slower than what they practiced against. Take away the ridiculous prep time and you play a whole different game (for both teams).

As for this offense it is simply the latest high school gimmick run amok in college football.
