Pick is Florida edge rusher Jonathan Greenard.
Draft Scouting Report: Rating: 83 Strengths: Chiseled with NFL defensive end size High-end burst off the snap Fluidity to win to the inside Sustains speed around the edge Decent arsenal of pass-rushing moves Weaknesses: Spin move needs work Rare moments of low motor At times pass-rush moves seem predetermined Draft Grade: A Height: 6-3, Weight: 263 Greenard has a chiseled NFL body with first-round flashes. Bend, phenomenal hand work. Just inconsistent. Nice power and good motor. Texans needed a natural rusher. (Chris Trapasso) |

BOB's phone isn't working...that's why he was yelling when they showed him on TV after the pick

From John McClain:
Texans had a deal with Detroit for the 90th pick but Lions backed out at last instant and Bill O’Brien was furious. You could tell by his reaction on TV. They selected OLB Jonathan Greenard with their pick. |

Typical draft trick. Hold the guy on the phone with a potential trade until the last second and then turn down the trade, causing the GM to waste time and then make a panic selection. O'Brien is the newby GM and Matt Patricia, being the former Patriot himself, probably tried to sabotage the Texans' selection.
TBH, Greenard is a solid pick. Would have preferred a CB myself, but Greenard is good value at a position of need. |
