Default Arrowhead 4/15

48: R2P17 WR STERLING SHEPARD OKLAHOMA
52: R2P21 WR MICHAEL THOMAS OHIO STATE
82: R3P19 TE NICK VANNETT OHIO STATE
85: R3P22 DE BRONSON KAUFUSI BRIGHAM YOUNG
110: R4P12 DT MALIEK COLLINS NEBRASKA
116: R4P18 G CHRISTIAN WESTERMAN ARIZONA STATE
166: R5P27 TE JERELL ADAMS SOUTH CAROLINA
195: R6P20 RB JONATHAN WILLIAMS ARKANSAS

Traded out of the 1st round and selected 2 1st-Round Talented WRs in the 2nd round. Got My DL set with Kaufusi and Collins. Improved the TE group with Vannett and Adams. Westerman can play G and I would try him at C. Jonathan Williams is a big back that keeps Miller fresh and can be the short-yardage specialist keeping Watt on Defense.

Fanspeak board 4/12

There were several good choices at #22 so I looked to trade down and made a deal with Denver, moving to #31 and adding their 3rd rounder. Taylor Decker was still there at #31 so the gamble paid off. It paid off double when Vernon Butler was still there in the second round. My centers were disappearing so I reached for Boehm in the fourth yet was pleased that Killebrew was still available in the fifth:

31: R1P31 OT TAYLOR DECKER OHIO STATE
52: R2P21 DT VERNON BUTLER LOUISIANA TECH
85: R3P22 TE NICK VANNETT OHIO STATE
94: R3P31 RB PAUL PERKINS UCLA

I decided to follow suit and use the same board and make the same initial trade. The difference is Conklin and Decker were already off the board....Conklin was selected by Denver at #22 - The good news is, I got my favorite WR.

31: R1P31 WR JOSH DOCTSON TCU
57: R2P26 DE BRONSON KAUFUSI BRIGHAM YOUNG
85: R3P22 G JOSHUA GARNETT STANFORD
117: R4P19 DT JAVON HARGRAVE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
119: R4P21 G CHRISTIAN WESTERMAN ARIZONA STATE
125: R4P27 RB C.J. PROSISE NOTRE DAME
156: R5P17 TE JERELL ADAMS SOUTH CAROLINA
159: R5P20 S MILES KILLEBREW SOUTHERN UTAH
166: R5P27 WR MALCOLM MITCHELL GEORGIA
192: R6P17 QB KEVIN HOGAN STANFORD
195: R6P20 OLB VICTOR OCHI STONY BROOK

After trading down and getting my WR in the first, I traded down in the 2nd and still got my DE Kaufusi to replace Crick while getting an extra 4th round pick (C.J. Prosise). I traded 3/31 that I got from Denver in my first trade to Buffalo and turned it into NT Hargrave, TE Adams, QB Hogan. So essentially I traded Conklin for Doctson, Hargrave, Adams, and Hogan. My hardest decision was choosing who to pick first out of Westerman, Prosise, Adams, and Killebrew. Westerman was the only player I have given a 2nd round grade so I went with him to potentially play C. All the TEs were gone except for Adams and all the Ss were gone except for Killebrew and I needed a TE more than S. Potentially, I could have passed on Prosise and went after Kenyan Drake later, but I am a big fan of Prosise. Luckily, I was able to get all of them with my cluster of picks that I was able to collect in trades. I've mentioned my reasons for the top 4 guys that I constantly target. The only issue I have with this draft class is that I didn't get a T.

Couldn't get Conklin or Garnett after a trade-down, but still got Murphy and McGovern. Grabbed a TE (Hooper) and a NT (Collins). Very happy to get Kelly in the 2nd round, since I contemplated drafting him with my 1st round pick.

Fanspeak updated several boards and I made two trade-downs. Cheer up - you only have to endure this 10 more days.

27: R1P27 C RYAN KELLY ALABAMA
52: R2P21 DT CHRIS JONES MISSISSIPPI STATE
88: R3P25 TE NICK VANNETT OHIO STATE
99: R4P1 QB CHRISTIAN HACKENBERG PENN STATE
119: R4P21 DE BRONSON KAUFUSI BRIGHAM YOUNG
141: R5P2 RB C.J. PROSISE NOTRE DAME
159: R5P20 ILB JOSH FORREST KENTUCKY
166: R5P27 CB ERIC MURRAY MINNESOTA
195: R6P20 WR BRALON ADDISON OREGON

I was surprised Hackenberg fell all the way to the 4th round but that makes him a good value and less of a "threat" to Osweiler. I've been late to the Kaufusi bandwagon but he was another that was too good to pass up in the 4th. Getting another G, OT or SS will just have to wait but the Texans can add them in other ways.

ROUND: 3 PICK: 25

TRADE PARTNER:

ROUND: 5 PICK: 2

I've been late to the Kaufusi bandwagon but he was another that was too good to pass up in the 4th.

I'm also late to the Kaufusi bandwagon....but now I'm a believer. I'm willing to spend a2nd round pick on this guy. I've been seeing him and DT Maliek Collins drafted later in the draft than I feel they are worth. Will be interesting to see where they are selected.
