Ya, I saw this on a crawl on ESPN last night.... Wonder what they know nobody else seems to know?.. I've heard Schaub might be with us till the draft....
Interesting to read some of the comments below the article...."no QB is worth a 1st round pick"..... I wouldn't go that far... Probably a couple are definite first rounders.... But we know what happens on draft day: Grown men lose their minds and start snapping up QB's like they are collectible items... |

Holy crap:
http://houston.cbslocal.com/2014/03/...r-matt-schaub/ Could we really fleece the Raiders out of a pick? DJ Hayden, #5, and their 3rd ~for~ Schaub and the #1. <--- That's a joke, people. |

I've never given much credence to seances or any of that but maybe there's something to them after all.

I think it could be a straight 1-for-1 Schaub for McGloin.
What the Texans get are cap room and a QB who knows O'Brien's system from Penn State. What the Raiders get is a playoff-ready veteran with WCO experience without having to woo him in free agency. What this might do is allow O'Brien to draft Bortles but start McGloin until Bortles is ready. I presume Yates and Keenum get tossed to the wind in this scenario. But the Texans also pick up the cap space to fill some holes. The Raiders are awash in cap room so they might even renegotiate with Schaub to put *more* of his contract on this year's cap so he costs less in future years. Oakland gets to keep their draft picks. Hard to believe but there is a certain amount of sense to it. If the Raiders get Schaub, McGloin won't see much time anyway. |

So, according to rumors both Raiders and Browns are negotiating for Schaub.
http://network.yardbarker.com/nfl/ar..._head_15974386 Good luck to both teams , quicker this gets finalized the better. And good luck to Schaub and a scenery change in future. |

If the report is true that Schaub got a $1 million roster bonus last year for every game he appeared in, it might explain why McNair was so pissed at Kubiak for putting Schaub in the game in relief of Keenum a couple of times.
Once the decision was made that Schaub's time in Houston was over, McNair would see it as wasted money every time Schaub went back into action. There's nothing saying the Browns are willing to *trade* for Schaub, only to sign him if he is cut. The Raiders are the only team connected to trade rumors. |

As much as I would love to believe that the Texans are stupid enough to construct a contract where Matt Schaub is eligible for sixteen million dollars in annual roster bonuses I read it as the pool from which the game-by-game roster bonus can be drawn is $1,000,000. So each appearance cost the team a bit north of $60,000.

Schaub for McGloin works for me. Anything that completely wipes out that contractual albatross is fine by me. QB for QB makes more sense, but I'd prefer they target Latavius Murray.
