A sort of Mount Rushmore of NFL QBs that have played for Houston.... would probably have to include Matt Schaub.

Warren Moon, Dan Pastorini, and George Blanda would be the incumbents. Who would knock off Schaub?

Career stats as a Texan:
7 seasons, 90 games, 64.6%, 23,221 yards, 7.7 YPA, 124 TDs, 78 INTs, 90.9 Rating.

He had some prolific seasons. And his injury in 2011 will forever make that season a "what could have been" memory for me.

Good for Matt. Wish him and family well in Oakland.

And great for Texans, lots of cap space relief and removes controversy.

And Oaklands 5th pick of 6th round draft this year. overall pretty good.

And should find out which compensatory picks we get in 2014 draft during this next week.

Got a 6th rounder this year for him.

Considering he was to be cut regardless, can't bitch about that.

How about Jim Kelly? Of course you'd have to include the Houston Gamblers in this discussion.

Good one. I was going to go with Steve McNair.

Yeah, I said NFL, so no to Jim Kelly... and Steve McNair played just two seasons with the HOUSTON Oilers. He didn't become the full-time starter until the season in 1997 season in Memphis as a member of the TENNESSEE Oilers.

I mention this Mount Rushmore thing only because it seems pretty easy to dismiss what Schaub meant to this franchise and the city. Just a bummer in retrospect that his best chance to bring home some hardware was cut short by injury in 2011.

Interesting that 3 of the 4 (Blanda, Pastorini, Schaub) went on to become Oakland Raiders. Moon was the only one who didn't....

What the hell, as long as you are reaching why not include Andrew Luck who played his scholastic ball at Stratford in Houston.

I just hope the Texans absolutely PROHIBIT the next Franchise QB from wearing #8. Put #8 on mothballs for at least the next 20 years.
