Checking in while I'm at lunch. Anyone who felt we underdrafted yesterday has to be happy so far with the second day. Jones and Crick both had second day value. I haven't heard of Martin. I love the idea of "ridiculous moves" but if he won't block, he won't last long. This Horn definitely approves of drafting Bullock, at least until his first shank.
Overall, very happy with this draft. Maybe we should shore up the secondary with our last pick. |

A third OL, 6'6", 304, 4.86 40, so fast straightline for a big guy to compete with Newton.
Feel good about draft, got their depth with value picks at WR, OL, and pass rushers and perhaps kicker for next 10 years.. Interesting he has played OT, OG, and long snapper. Last edited by Nconroe; 04-28-2012 at 05:05 PM. |

Mondek was officially sized at 6'5.5" and 305 pounds. He bench pressed the 225 pounds an impressive 30 times and ran the 20 yard shuttle and 3 cone drill at times of 4.55 and 7.30 respectively. All of those numbers--in case you weren't aware--compared incredibly with the NFL Rookie Combine numbers of David DeCastro, the Guard from Stanford who is expected to go First Round this weekend. But possibly the most impressive of all of Nick's recorded drills at the Pro Day was the 40 Yard Dash time he clocked--4.84. For a 300 pounds lineman, 4.84 is hauling it!
http://www.hammerandrails.com/2012/4...le-nick-mondek *************************** Summary: Big-framed, well-proportioned, converted defensive tackle and terrific foot athlete — ran the 40-yard dash in the high 4.8s at 300 pounds, including an unheard of 1.59-second 10-yard split, and recorded elite times in the short shuttle (4.55 seconds) and 3-cone drill (7.3 seconds). Has good feet and stature to position, lean and seal. Explosive pulling and leading through the hole. Is relatively raw — has only two seasons at guard under his belt and is not instinctive or anticipatory. Power and violence elements are lacking and he needs to get stronger in order to improve his ability to sustain and finish. Will require patience, but is draftable late based on size and workout numbers and has clear developmental value. http://cache.profootballweekly.com/p...ick-mondek-62/ Now that's what I call a ZB prospect. That boy can pick them up and lay them down. Last edited by nunusguy; 04-28-2012 at 05:09 PM. |
