There is roughly a 50% turnover in playoff teams in the NFL year after year. You never know what can happen from one year to the next. IMO, it is way too early to get excited, or even speculate as to what is going to happen, especially this year when the big boys might be able to buy thier way to the promise land.
Just based on this years results, which again, mean squat: Home: Indianapolis - 14-2 Jacksonville - 7-9 Tennessee - 8-8 Kansas City - 4-12 San Diego - 13-3 Dallas - 11-5 N.Y. Giants - 8-8 Baltimore - 9-7 Away: Indianapolis - 14-2 Jacksonville - 7-9 Tennessee - 8-8 Denver - 8-8 Oakland - 5-11 Philadelphia - 11-5 Washington - 4-12 N.Y. Jets - 9-7 Fear no one, respect everyone. As we have seen, we are getting built the right way. A couple of balls bounce our way, we punch it in from the freaking 1, our kick doesn't get the damn shanks, and the above are looking at this very same schedule thinking....damn, that it brutal. ANY GIVEN SUNDAY! |

You've got to beat the best to be the best. I highly doubt teams like the Colts and Pats, etc. worry about who's on their schedule. No one should intimidate these guys at this point. If the they can stop beating themselves with mistakes (fumbles, pick-6's, etc.) and have an above average success rate at executing in tight situations, they can play with anyone in the league and win. They're that close.

Ok, I like crazy projections as well. Be nice to see trades, FA's, draft, preseason, but here goes just for fun. And somehow we will get to 11-5 finally, maybe, finishing strong again.

ESPN is reporting that based on opponent's win-loss percentage, the Texans actually have the toughest schedule in the league next year. Looks like it may be two years before that first playoff game... |
