I have to admit I edit the mock. I started out with Weatherspoon, but the top 3 picks then where not as good IMO, as going the other way and grabbing Berry. I think Kindle can be a 4-3 WILL.

Also I see the safety as a bigger need, I am seeing bigger plays where a top tier safety safe us, not seeing the same missed plays by Diles.

I also need a CB that tackle, please.

Besides, what makes you think we are not going 3-4 next year?

Mario LDE, Okam/Robinson NT, Bulman/SmithRDE
Cushing LOLB, Ryans LMLB, Diles RMLB, Barwin ROLB

Could we hire Wade Phillips as DC when the Cowboys fire him?

I have been thinking about this also. The reason most dont want to is because they say, it is a waste of Marios talents. I say who cares? If it will make the team better then do it. Maybe we could finaly get some pressure on the opposing QB. Despite how great Mario is the current system isnt working. Its not like Mario is setting the world on fire with pressuring the QB now.

Hey I like Witherspoon to, but you guys don't honestly think we're going to draft another LB with our top pick in '10 do you ? Unless you want to coin a new term and call this thread "2010 Fantasy-Mock Draft", I say get real.
But what's really amusing is to think back about this years Draft and recall all of the talk about how we didn't have a glaring weakness, about how we could
just draft the best players and not worry too much about specific positions because we'd come so far with the quality of our personnel.
Re the defense I ask you, is there anyplace besides one end of the DLine and the LB corp where we don't have a glaring weakness ? Playing a few games sure brings an end to all of the silly talk we heard just a couple months ago about a team without a "glaring weakness".

Guilty as charged.

DraftTeks 1st real mock of the year.

9 - Arthur Jones Syracuse DT43

Houston
Houston has talent across the board on the DL, so I am puzzled by this pick. I might have gone with the homegrown McCoy, as the firm of Schaub, Grossman & Orlovsky has done nothing to impress. -- Long Ball (Drafttek NFL Analyst)

Remember they are using computers to match need with players. No way we go with another undersized DT when Weatherspoon and Berry both are available.

I'd hire Wade in one second to be DC.

Puzzled why anyone thinks Okam will be on the team next year, or maybe even the rest of this year. I think he is one we have to chalk up to unrealized potential, or he just does not want it bad enough.

Because I am not throwing away a NT before he completes his 3rd year. It takes most NTs a long time to figure out the NFL. It took Wilfork 3 years, it took the guy in Chicago 3 years. I am willing to give Okam 3 years.

WalterFootball.com updated their mock on 10/22, so analysis is still out of date, but interesting picks, picking in the 19th spot, mocking three rounds.

rd 1 Joe Haden, CB, Florida , 5'10", 202 climbing the boards as a Jr.,

Mike Iupati, G, Idaho 6'6" 330 5.2 40 from Sporting News,
if he's there I'd take him

rd 2 Vince Oghobaase, DT, Duke 6'5" 305 5.05 40

rd 3 Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford 6'1" 235 4.6 40

Could we really be 6-1 if we could run in for a TD from 1 yard line? Then OG and RB could be a big need.

I think I'd be o.k. with that draft. I need to see who was available in the 1st round, but I'm ok with Iupati, Oghobasse, and Gebhart.

OK you know I am in the trade down school here. so two different paths

no trade
# 19 ) Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida I know we do not need a Mike but BPA sorry
#51 ) Mike Johnson, G, Alabama
#82 ) Mitch Petrus, G, Arkansas

In a year or two Caldwell is the OC, and Petrus and Johnson are OGs with Brown and Winston, this is a solid power block group, and they have size.

Trade down
#33 from NE from Tenn
Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Georgia Tech
#51 ours
Vince Oghobaase, DT, Duke
#58 from NE
Mike Johnson, G, Alabama
#82 Thomas Austin, G, Clemson
