Default Playoff Hopes

This is merely in the interest of maintaining optimism.

Leaders:
Projected Records:
Cincy: 13-3
NE: 12-4 Assuming loss to NO
Indy: Anwhere from 15-1(loss to Denver or sit starters for last game w/BUF)
Denver: 11-5 (Very easy schedule down the stretch)

Wildcard Scenarios:
SD: Tenn/Wash games are critical. These games could mean our playoff hopes. (worst case scenario: they lose 3 of their last 4: 9-7)
Pitt: very tough schedule down the stretch minus Oak/Clev. Assuming a split with Baltimore: 10-6
Balt: Assuming split with Pitt and loss to GB: 9-7
Jacks: Assuming they only beat SF/Clev. 8-8 (This means we MUST beat them)
Mia: Assuming we beat them: 7-9 or 8-8 or 9-7 if they beat TENN.

TEXANS: We definitely must go 5-1 down the stretch, to result in 10-6. This means that we could definitely afford to lose to Indy. However we would HAVE to beat Jacks and hope NE sits their starters. However with the close records for division leaders they may be fighting for Homefield Advantage with Cincy. In this case we would definitely need to win the next 5 games. (highly unlikely, but possible)

I am not sure how the tie breakers would work if we went 9-7. I think there are gonna be quite a few 9-7 teams.

I think it would be interesting if we all decided to write out how we thought the AFC would shape up at the end of the season.

"Hopes" is a good word to choose in describing our chances for post-season action this year.

Glimmer.

Hope that NE is resting their starters, although I feel like we won't even get to that point.

We're going to lose to Jacksoffville, that's just how those bastards (they, not us) work.

I concur. Mr. McNair should fly to North Carolina tomorrow and have a chat with Bill Cowher about what he wants for his future.

Fire Kubiak before the season is over so we can start the search early, let every player know he is auditioning for his job, and let's move on.

We need a HC like Cowher or Mike Holmgren. But you must start early on the search. Waiting until mid January will hurt the search and add other teams to the mix.

So I have come to understand that our offense is only capable of playing more than one half of football.

Here are some interesting numbers:

Shaub
September 7TD 2Int
October 9TD 3Int
November 3TD 4Int. WOW!!!

Between his own 21-50 he has thrown 4Int. Leads to points after turnover
When the margin is 15+ he has 1TD 4Int and a 60 QB rating.

What do these numbers say?

Maybe either these stats mean Shaub sucks or his motivation is non-existent with the current coaching staff.

Playoffs?!?!?! Hell, we're the worst team in the AFC South - AGAIN!!!! This team has the nads of a fish. Anyone who says this team is improving is frickin blind or oblivious to reality.

WOW!!! If the Titans beat the Colts next week they can easily run the table in their remaining games against the Rams, Dolphins, Chargers and Seahawks. To make things even better for them, 3 out of their last 4 games are at home. If they beat the Colts all they have to worry about would be the Chargers but they play in LP field. The Titans play the biggest game of their season next week.... Unlike the Texans, lets see if they can win the big ones when it counts..... What a big slap and spit to the face it would be if the Titans end up making it to the Wild Card LMAO!!

If this team had started out 0-6 they would have been making reservations for their family vacation, not scratching and clawing their way back to respectability. They've taken on the persona of their HC who can't watch a key FG and their QB who gets a case of the sads when things aren't going his way.

I do feel they need to go 4-1 from here on in to have any chance at all, probably still slim but it would be their first time at 9-7 which might salvage Kubiak's job.

We have no chance at the playoffs unless the rest of the AFC has a meltdown. And even then we would have to post some wins. It isn't going to happen. I have been listening to the radio and reading bulletin boards and different web sites and it really bugs me the way alot of Houston fans begin lowering their expectations when the Texans once again can't make the playoffs. We'll get em next year. Next year comes around and then....We'll get em next year. Get off the Kubiak merry go round and get mad. We are not going to take this mediocre crap anymore.

Well what else can we say? Theres almost no chance for us to make the playoffs so all we can say is "we'll get em next year." And we dont have control of the team to make any coaching decisions so we're pretty much stuck with whatever comes back next year. i honestly thought that this year we would at least split our division games but by year's end we'll still be the worst team in the division.
