Default It's Almost Draft Day

...so channel Rick Smith and tell us who you think the Texans will draft with their first pick. If you want, also add who you think they should draft .

Think that he picks Corey Coleman. Assuming that Jack Conklin is unavailable at #22, I would be content with Josh Doctson.

My guess is Emmanuel Ogbah because we have to get to Peyton Ma...uh, Andrew Luck.

Personally, I'd like Conklin, Decker or Kelly and trade down if none are there.

I don't know who but I bet he stays put and goes DT.

I would generally prefer that the selection be OT but of course it all depends on how the process shakes out. I would be fine with WR, too. I could even warm to a S here if it falls that way. A RB would be a big surprise and a huge disappointment for me.

But if they get a guy who starts from day one and kicks ass I don't care which way they go. But I bet DT.

Hmmm....Jarran Reed.

Taylor Decker.

Vonn Bell.

Derrick Henry.

Javon Hargrave.

I see your wager and I'll raise you that the Texans trade down 3-5 spots in order to do it. Second guess is a WR, maybe Coleman.

You're on. I just don't see RS as the trade down type, not in the first. The mock that doesn't have us taking a WR is rarer than the day Manziel wakes up without a hangover.

I hope they can uncover a nineteen year old DT from some obscure school who started playing football a year and a half ago after a sparkling career throwing discus.

This is one of my triggers.

He did trade down in 2008 (Duane Brown), but that's only once in however many years. Twice if you count 2007 (Amobi Okoye) as part of the trade for Schaub, but that was different.

I think it's going to be a speed WR because the DL class is supposed to be deep this year so there's a better chance of filling that need on Day 2. Especially since they don't need a top pass rusher to fill that spot.

Sweet. I figured we'd be on the same page.

The WR class is deep, too, which is why I can see them waiting until day 2 for that need. It will be a very interesting decision and a potential insight into how they see the team going forward, a defense-first, Denver clone (not that that's a bad thing other than it makes Bob happy) or a team that's going to try to move the ball and score some points. Obviously they splashed out for a quarterback and they probably have more in mind than having him lean down and hand the ball off to Miller.

But I still say DT. Part of me wants something non-glamorous so that the talk radio calling necks will go nutso. I won't listen, of course, I'll just enjoy knowing it's happening.

My futbol team is having a fund-raising poker tournament Thursday night. All along I had fully intended to go and take all of their money. But then it dawned on me that there was something else important happening. I'm torn, seriously torn. I'll probably stay home for the draft and watch that dickbrain Smith trade down into the second round.

With all the chatter about "we've got to improve the offense" in the off season, would not surprise me to see them go defense in the first round. Yes, they got a QB and a RB in the offseason but there's still more to do..... 3 of the first 4 picks should be offense....

OL, WR, TE, and DE.

If they stay put, I believe the pick is Kevin Dodd. Huge hole to fill at DE, and Watt REALLY needs help, he can't carry the defense every game.

If we trade down several spots, its most likely Doctson or best available WR in the 1st, then Austin Johnson, Bronson, or Nassib come into play in the 2nd as our new DE.

I really want us to trade down and grab more picks as I think this draft is loaded with talent in the 2-5 rounds.

BOB comes from the Bill Belichik school of defense first, just look at his history: Kevin Johnsson and Clowney.
