Kubes said only the 4th and 5th spot were open, so if AJ is #1, Walter (?) #2, and JJ #3, who do you think will be #4 & 5?
My guess: #4 - Dorin Dickerson (not 100% sure here). #5 - Le-Star Jean ( Will have to get off the training table).

I think it will be Dickerson, and someone that isn't here yet. Call it a hunch, but I'm thinking we bring in 2-3 vets to fill out the bottom of the roster. WR, NT, and a G would be my guess.

My guess is special teams determines it even more this year. We are doing some really good things from 2 and 3 TE sets and will probably keep 3 TE in addition to Casey. This means fewer sets with 4 and 5 WR. And since none of our WRs have significant return skills, I would bet 4 and 5 have to be coverage guys. Maybe a special teams start will get cut loose somewhere.

@McClain_on_NFL: Texans agreed to terms with WR Bryant Johnson. He tried out after practice. Team is desperate to find 4th and 5th WRs.

So that likely means the Dickerson experiment is done.

Dickerson's still got practice squad eligibility.

Johnson being signed as a potential #4 does not mean Dickerson is out. It means that you don't go into a year with a 2nd year pro at #4 WR who had ZERO catches in this rookie season. Especially not a 2nd year pro with 1 year of WR experience (wasn't he a TE in college).
Dickerson probably leads the pack of UDFA guys for the 5th spot. |
