While I have nothing against this at all, seems like a crowded coaching staff. Reading between the lines, I wonder if Gibbs has indicated that this year would be his last and Kubes wanted to bring in someone who Gibbs could tutor in his last year.

Benton would be the most likely to take over Gibbs role when he leaves, Matthews would then be in line to take over Benton's role.
Only fly in the ointment is Gibbs has retired before and found out he hated it. I can see him staying for a little while, especially now his son and his family are going to be here.

Useless stat of the day:
Bruce Matthews is exactly 1 week older than Kubiak. |

New DLine coach Koller's title is "Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Line" and he's listed above new DC Bush at the Texans official website (obviously because of the Asst HC title) in the complete list of Texans coachs. Actually he an old man Gibbs are only behind Kubiak in the list and obviously that order has compensation/protocol meaning.
I dunno but guess that means Koller is getting bigger bucks than Bush and indicates how highly the organization values his hire (as they do the senior Gibbs) just as a DLine coach ? |
