So three pick in a row for defense? Plus you must not like Diles....

Think about it 2 OLB with althetic ability to go with Ryans, finally.

Maybin, Ryans, Brown

backed up by Adibi, Bentley and Diles

Johnny Holland would not know what to do.

And I could live with it.

Think we could trade down and still get Maybin?

Maybin is way too inexperienced to try and teach him a new position, IMO. Plus, what makes him an asset right now is his first step explosiveness. If you put him at WLB, you take that away and are teaching the guy to read and react. I just don't think putting him a LB makes any sense at all.

Now, if we traded down and took him with the idea of playing him on passing downs until he added a little bulk and grew into the game, I'd be fine with that. I just don't want to see him at LB. And, I don't think the team would have any interest in doing that.

I would say listening to Rick Smith we are looking at an OLB in the 1st, and other than Cushing and Matthews there are not any true OLB slotted at 15. There are a lot of hybrids and I felt Smith thought a hybrid to play OLB was a possibility.

As you know it's a slow time of year and all we can do is read between the lines.

Too inexperienced to teach him a new position? Wouldn't that be the best time to teach him a new position?

I'm sure he'd be able to figure something out (Holland).

As for trading down to get Maybin, it depends upon his measurables. Is he 232lbs or 252lbs? Does he run a 4.49 or a 4.79? Let me get back to you after the Combine.
