KR Tremon Smith returns the kickoff to the 16. Not a good half for him. Someone please let him know he doesn't have to return every kickoff.

Akins bobbles his next target, but keeps it anyway to convert for a first down. Allen sacked for an 8-yd loss on the subsequent play as Pierce picked up a blitzer but was bulldozed anyway. Allen's third down completion goes for 7 yards when he needed 13. Another Johnston punt after the two minute warning, this one a 54-yd beauty for a fair catch.

Dolphins end the half on a 35-yd field goal.

0-30. Yuck.

Texans mounted a drive. 6 plays, 64 yards. Ogunbowale started off with a 9-yd run, then a catch. Allen found Cooks for a deep pass with an unnecessary roughness tacked on. Ogun then went up the middle for the score. 2-pt attempt failed.

6-30, 3:18 3rd quarter

Hmm, Dolphins sit Tagovailoa. Skylar Thompson under center. My fantasy team is not pleased.

And... Thompson fumbles. Recovered by the Texans at midfield.

Allen makes the most of the turnover finding Akins for a 25-yard touchdown. Another 2-pt conversion attempt fails.

12-30, 12:46 4th quarter.

Dolphins three-and-out. Man, playing with a backup QB sucks.

Texans go 8 plays for 57 yards, stalling out inside the redzone after a 12-yd completion to Collins. Fairbairn good from 28 yards.

15-30, 9:00 4th quarter

A couple punts ensued in the battle of backup QBs.

Yikes, Burkheard injured. His back went backwards or something. Hope he is ok.

Allen throws deep into double coverage for Chris Moore. Intercepted by S Verone McKinley III. Whoops. Allen's second pick of the day.

15-30, 2:48 4th quarter

Dolphins kneel it out. Defense was ok. Pitched a shutout in the second half, but that was against (mostly) Thompson, not Tua. Allen had two fumbles (recovered by the Texans) to go with his two picks, and was sacked five times as the interior OL still blows.

Some stats:
Allen 26/39 215 1 TD 2 INT 67.8 QBR, almost led team w/ 12 yds rushing

Pierce 5-8, 3-8 (yikes)
Ogunbowale 4-14, 1-6

Collins 6-44
Akins 5-61
Cooks 5-59

Pitre 7 tkl, 1 PD
Maliek Collins 2 sacks, 3 TFL
Kirksey 7 tkl, 1 sack

27:33 TOP

Texans 15, Dolphins 30 FINAL
