The emergency cart *broke down* trying to go get Mason Rudolph off the field. Trainers removed his facemask trying to revive him and then had teammates help him stagger off the field like a drunk. Pitt ended with a QB who wasn't even in training camp when the season began and still almost pulled off a win.

Eheh. Yep, old school football with those two. They always seem to play close - a ton of games over the last few years decided by 3 pts or less. That's why I took the +3½...

I was on Carolina -3½ in my best bet. Minshew and the Panther defense were giving me consecutive heart attacks in the final seconds of that game....

I was on the Titans -3. Unfortunately, they fell to the mighty Bills....

How about those Raiders?

What a great weekend for the city of Houston. The Astros go to Tampa Bay up 2-0 in a best of 5 series and the Texans with a convincing win at home over a team they were supposed to beat. Someone pinch me, I'm dreamin'.....

Goes without saying Watson was outstanding today. For the most part, he had good protection, set his feet and threw accurately. Hyde ran well - not that great of an average but a punishing runner who can wear a defense out. He's gonna bust one someday soon. Hyde, Johnson and Watson combined were 4.9 yds/carry - quite acceptable. Best game of the year so far by the Texan offense.

Early line has the Chiefs as 7½ to 8½ pt favorites over the Texans next week. Indy vs KC tonight should be good TV....

This has already dropped a few points to Chiefs by 5 to 6 after the Chiefs loss to the Colts last night. The Chiefs looked human and similar to the Falcons - lots of passing with not a whole lot of defense or run game. Would it be possible for the Chiefs to lose two home games in a row?

Lots of surprising results. My picks this year have been awful. I think I am 1-4 on Thursday nights. The problem with being a bad team this year is that there are too many teams even worse.

After Miami, the Jets, Washington, Cincinnati... you can be awful and still wind up with a first-round pick no higher than 6 or 7.

Wow. Vyncint Smith and Kareem Jackson having big games today.

OK my call for the ouster of Bill, was answered by his best offensive performance of the year. The game plan included quick routes and quick throws . Until now, I didn't know those were in his playbook. He has been getting D4 killed with his play calling.

So show me a trend and continue taking what the defense is giving you, and keep winning.

And I am aware that a lot of the holding of the ball has been on D4 himself. But BOB is calling the plays, and he is the boss, make the kid save himself.

I predict that I will be calling for BOB job again. I have a short memory on good games and a long memory on bad games.

I really wanted to see Indy lose but I found myself impressed with their ability to just run the ball down KC's throat seemingly at will and grinding out a 19-13 win at Arrowhead. Darn, I wish we could do that - against anyone.

Even better, they've banged up the Chiefs on both lines and Prince Wunderkind so the Texans now have a snowball's chance of beating them next week. By the end of the game, the Chiefs had an OG that was getting beat on every play. Let's just line up Watt against this guy all day long. That would be our best chance if we are so lucky.

Oh, and a voodoo curse on Kelce would also be welcome.

Indy got lucky with KCs best WRs Tyreek Hill & Sammy Watkins and LT Eric Fischer all out for the game. And with Fischer out the Chiefs were left with the inept OT Cameron Irving to try to block X-Chiefs edge guy Justin Houston.
So now we get to go into KC the upcoming weekend and try to give the Chiefs two straight losses at home and then travel to Indy the following weekend.
And in some fortuitous scheduling for the Colts they are now on their bye week giving them two full weeks to get ready for our visit.
