Practice squad list:

Tyrell Adams 50 ILB 6-2 230 27 3 West Georgia
Austin Exford 47 S 6-0 200 23 R Appalachian State
Karan Higdon Jr. 31 RB 5-10 202 22 R MIchigan
Albert Huggins 67 DE 6-3 305 22 R Clemson
Chris Johnson 43 S 6-3 200 23 R North Alabama

Wyatt Ray 49 OLB 6-3 257 22 R Boston College
Vyncint Smith 17 WR 6-3 202 23 2 Limestone College

Glad to see Vyncint Smith make this list as they will probably need him this year.

Note new QB Alex McGough. He was with the Jags and I found this info on him:

Quote:
Duval fan-favorite Alex McGough won’t be returning to the Jacksonville Jaguars’ roster for the 2019 regular season, not even as a practice squad member. Instead, he’ll be signing with their division rivals in the Houston Texans who were one of several teams that “aggressively” recruited the young quarterback per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Wilson also reported that the Texans will be paying the young quarterback a weekly salary of 20k while on their practice squad this football season.......
McGough, 23, had two of the Jags’ three touchdowns this preseason after rushing for one against the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons. He wasn’t as impressive as a passer though, going 11-of-29 (37.9 percent) for 60 yards, an interception and two rushing touchdowns throughout the preseason. Still, he had some tools in which the Jags could’ve worked with and many fans preferred him over No. 2 quarterback Gardner Minshew.
So, bye bye Ta'amu, hello McGough.

The complete final roster is listed here.

Glad to see that RB Buddy Howell made the final cut. Weird that they also keep RB Taiwan Jones, an 8 year vet with 183 career rushing yards. I question the upside of this although, no doubt, he's a tough guy, hard worker and a great teammate.

One thing is for sure - the Texans do things in a way that almost no one else in the solar system would do things....

I saw a report somewhere that Jones would be used heavily in the return game. We'll see...

Jets signing WR Vyncint Smith off Texans' practice squad, Tyron Johnson to replace him:

Quote:
CARSON, Calif. - The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Vyncint Smith off of the Texans' practice squad, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.

The Texans are expected to replace Smith with Oklahoma State wide receiver Tyron Johnson, according to sources.

Johnson, cut by the Texans after the preseason, is a 4.36 sprinter who tried out for the Oakland Raiders on Friday.

The Texans wanted to keep Smith, per sources, but the opportunity with the Jets was a good one given the injuries they've endured at wide receiver.

If this is the Chris Clark I am thinking of, he's a veteran who has been in Denver and other places. He can be a decent RT and can possibly fill at guard. Essentially, we'll be without Tytus Howard for a few weeks because of a partial MCL tear and Sentreal Henderson for non-football reasons so we are short a few linemen. I suspect the Texans don't want to move Sharping to RT while he's learning to play guard.

Clark cannot stop speed rushers which will be a worry if he lines up opposite Justin Houston.
