But Cunningham is also very highly regarded but still surprising given our needs in the OLine. When do we take a tackle, surely in third ?

Side note from last night.
Arizona had their #13 draft card filled out with Deshaun Watson's name on it...they were pissed when HOU traded ahead of them to get him. |

I've been meaning to ask about Newton. Has anyone heard anything one way or the other? |

No idea but rehabbing both knees at the same time sounds brutal.

It sounds impossible. Which is why I'd assumed that the team thinks he'll never play again and why I'm a little puzzled that they haven't done anything to address the need to this point. Obviously this is a historically bad draft for OL and the FA OL were obscenely expensive. But the need is plain.

I don't have a big problem with Foreman since it's proven now that Blue is just a guy and they can't keep running Miller at the workload they put on him through last year. With that being said, I would have taken Perine over Foreman if the goal was to get a bruiser RB. Foreman has better 40 speed, but go look at their highlights and tell me who's better as far as breaking tackles and just powering through defenders. But hey, what do I know???

I'm ok with a mostly draft who's best available on your board, which appears is what Texans doing since no top OL remain when they draft.
Here are early draft grades from SI.com Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson: Three quarterbacks in the top 12, three pricey trades up for the teams that took them. For the Texans to get from No. 25 to here, the cost was that 25th pick plus a 2018 first-rounder. Remember, the Browns already own Houston’s 2018 second-rounder, as part of the Brock Osweiler salary dump. But the Texans could not carry a playoff-ready roster into next season with Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden manning the QB depth chart. Watson threw too many interceptions in college and he’ll need time to transition into Bill O’Brien’s offense, but he is the most talented quarterback there by a wide margin. This has to work, because the Texans mortgaged their ‘18 draft to solve a mess of their own creation. GRADE: A- Round 2, Pick 25 (No. 57) Zach Cunningham, LB, Vanderbilt: Finally. Cunningham should not have made it this far, plain and simple. The knock on him has been his ability to wrap, which will have to be more consistent at the next level for him to remain a 100-tackle defender. The Texans already have Brian Cushing and Bernardick McKinney inside, where Cunningham will have to play in their 3-4. Does this pick signal an impending end of the line for Cushing’s Texans career? Grade: A Round 3, Pick 25 (No. 89) D'Onta Foreman, RB, Texas: Bill O’Brien has said he wants to lighten Lamar Miller’s workload some this season, and Foreman absolutely will help do that. He’s a big back who runs like a small back—the cutting ability and speed could help him churn out yards in that Houston scheme. Grade: B+ |

Saints are/were supposedly dangling a #2 for next year to get into this round. I wonder how much thought they gave that.

So, we have 5 more picks for now, maybe two for OL. And might use some cap space on a veteran , perhaps after June or after preseason cuts even. |

If (big if) he can prove he is healthy, I would love for Houston to spend some of their cap $ on a 1yr deal for Sebastian Vollmer at RT.
