Honestly, I think the Broncos, if they can't land Kaepernick or Fitzpatrick, almost have to land a competent QB in the first round to back up Sanchez. If so, they would be wrong to stand pat at #31 and hope Lynch falls to them. I could easily see the Broncos trading up with us and giving us #31 and #63. But I'd still fall into the upper second for a 2nd, 3rd and 4th if given a chance. I think we have so many holes to fill that owning 5 picks in the first two days is better than having three picks with one at #22. But that's just me.

Actually not a bad draft but I would have done more about the front 7 in the later rounds. That's where I shop for ILBs and safeties. They normally can stick as STers if they don't start.

I traded down again with the CBS board although I could have had Ezie Elliott, Lynch or an OT if I had stayed. I didn't get the great trade-down offers I wanted but I added a couple of 4ths that picked up some sliding talent.

The newest big board was Bleacher Report (which is garbage) but it is always fun working with a board you have no familiarity with. Somehow, I never got a trade offer to my liking but a lot of guys fell that were below where I think they'll actually be picked:

22: R1P22 ILB REGGIE RAGLAND ALABAMA
52: R2P21 C RYAN KELLY ALABAMA
85: R3P22 QB CHRISTIAN HACKENBERG PENN STATE
120: R4P21 RB DERRICK HENRY ALABAMA
160: R5P20 DE CARL NASSIB PENN STATE
167: R5P27 OLB ERIC STRIKER OKLAHOMA
196: R6P20 CB JONATHAN JONES AUBURN

I guess I could call this my "Roll Tide" draft. No receivers in this draft but you have to grab the value that's out there.

ROUND: 6 PICK: 29

TRADE PARTNER:
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS SENT:

ROUND: 3 PICK: 28

15 picks, no way you can keep them all. So way to many trade downs. What becomes obvious is that DT
s are strong early, WR are strong in the middle, and the LBs coming out of the college ranks are not geared to the NFL game (danged spread offenses).
