I don't see this as a particularly strong draft class which means teams at the top will probably want to trade down so the trade-up scenarios may not be as daunting as we now think. However, the combine and workouts may change that opinion.

Very strong Defensive draft, but IMO a medium QB draft. And the owner has declared he wants a franchise QB. Time to force one.

I like the kid from Oregon, Vernon Adams Jr. But he is not a franchise guy due to his height.

I could live with Roy's guy Dak Prescott.

IMO you draft 2 guys and hope one turns out.

I am not a fan of two young QBs. QB is a position that needs the belief and backing of a franchise. Look at Kirk Cousins. He had skills as a backup, but was terrible as a starter in 2014 when the drama swirled around RG3 and him and who would play. Colt McCoy outplayed them both, probably because he didn't have any expectations or future. Then this season RG3 is taken out of the picture, the coach and team fully backs Cousins, and by midseason he looks like a franchise guy.

O'Brien is an offense guy and is supposed to specifically be a QB guy. We waited 3 years and no vet fell in our laps. No trade, no FA, Drew Brees didn't shake lose. It's time for O'Brien to pick a QB (even if it's not a 1st rounder) and put everything he has behind the guy.

You mean like when the Oilers drafted Dan Pastorini and Lynn Dickey or when the Redskins chose RGIII and later too Kirk Cousins?

I could give support to this idea. A combo of Christian Hackenberg and Kevin Hogan or Dak Prescott and Jacoby Brissett would give the team some insurance.

Vernon Adams would be an acceptable choices. He is short, but I still think he can play in the league.

Yep. Dickey outplayed Pastorini until he broke his hip. So it worked out. The Oilers traded Dickey who had a solid career.
