There are going to be tons of options. Someone is going to want the pick and be willing to pay for it.

If the Texans don't take a QB with their next pick, gotta think there might be something to the Mallet rumors....

The Vikings jump up to take a quarterback. It must be Teddy.

Damn. So close to Bridgewater.

Well, I'm staunchly in favor of getting a RT now. Antonio Richardson or Joel Bitonio or Cyrus Kuondijo. Trade back if it makes sense but make sure you get a quality lineman.

I sort of doubt BOB likes Teddy as much as you and I do. RT, TE, ILB, hell, OLB, CB, RB, chucha madre we need a lot of players. Anyway, I would love a trade down because the second and third rounds are where the value seems to be in this draft and since we need so much if we can drop back a couple of picks and add another second or third, let's do it. Although I think the Seahawks and the Niners are the only two teams with two seconds.

I think Carr is better than anyone else at QB and since there's no way the Texans can take him I think that they'll be able to get someone at 101 who may be as good as anyone they could get at 33.

No way they take Carr. If they really like Savage, I say take him and don't screw around with a trade down. I could the Raiders being willing to move up for Carr, tho. But again, if they like Savage, grab him.

As for Mallett, ugh, I'd rather take a shot with Ponder.

As for Mallett I'm with everyone who is suspicious of taking any quarterback that Belichick willingly parts with.

Sonofabitch. So damn close to Teddy. Obviously, I must have liked him in this offense more than the Texans. For all I know, he'll bust with the Vikings, but I think he would have been a terrific fit here.

Not only that (Cassel), but consider too that Mallett has been groomed in their offense for a couple seasons, and Tom Brady at 37 isn't going to be around forever. So... letting him walk in a contract year for a 3rd? Hm.

Compared with the QB options remaining in the draft, I can't say though that Mallett would be that much worse in 2014 than anyone on the board. He'd be a vet, and he'd know the offense.

I'll say this... the Texans were successful in avoiding a repeat of the 2002 draft, a year in which Peppers should have been the pick but the team forced David Carr up their board. Clowney ought to be a playmaker in what should hopefully be decent defense this season.
