You're absolutely right...but he's come out throwing before...and we still came away with the win. My point was that our defense kept it tight early on while we had a couple three and outs...as opposed to last week...great game

Mercilous definitely needs to be in the rotation from here on. He had a burst that we haven't seen from anyone not named Watt. I think this kid is going to be a very disruptive force for us for in the future and for a long time. I'm actually surprised at how big his lower and upper body is. When he came out of college he looked much more slender than he is today. He has the body type and speed of Suggs (well, the Suggs before he became a fatty by putting on like 30lbs during his injury). I think we have a player here, folks.

I agree the defense kept us in good position early until the offense got untracked. But the gameplans weren't similar, the lack of execution was. Luckily, when you field a complete team, neither the offense nor the defense has to always perform on every possession (a luxury very good teams like NE/NO/CHI/SF do not have).
