After the restructuring was done on Schaub, who knows? There probably isn't cap room but there always seems to be a way to make this stuff work. The Patriots never seem to have trouble bringing in a veteran when they need one.

Any word on Sharpton? The three-week window for him to start practicing opened this week, and when (or if) he starts practicing they'll have three weeks to decide whether to activate him or put him on IR. Kubiak said after the Jets game that Sharpton wasn't ready to come back as of that point.

Kubiak hasn't sounded real optimistic when he's been asked.

It's sounding more like he is IR bound. That is a tough injury to come back from and his set back that he had right before training camp appears to be more serious then were lead to believe when it happened.

Seems I was wrong about this one as well as the many other things I am wrong about.

Here's what Kubiak had to say:

(on ILB Darryl Sharpton’s status) “I thought it was next week (when he could come off PUP), because I’ll be honest with you, I wasn’t even thinking about it because I knew he wasn’t ready to come back this week. He could have practiced this week just like (LB Terrell) Suggs in Baltimore. He’s in the same situation, but he’s not ready. He’s very close. He’s working with our trainers and running very, very well. But he is not ready to go on the field with the rest of the players yet. I don’t know. Yep, that's a bit more optimistic. Sure would be nice to have him as another option, IF, he can go full speed.
