Default Official Texans @ Panthers Fake Game Thread, 8/11/2012

Whelp, the NFL preseason games are here. New Orleans kicked it off with a win over the Cardinals on Sunday.

Texans will get it going this Saturday at 6 pm on the NFLN (and probably Ch 13, too) against the Carolina Panthers in Carolina.

Two more Saturday games follow with San Francisco (home) and New Orleans (away). The Texans will finish up on a Thursday night game against the Minnesota Vikings (home).

Sat, Aug 11 @Carolina 7:00 PM NFL
Sat, Aug 18 vsSan Francisco 8:00 PM
Sat, Aug 25 @New Orleans 8:00 PM CBS
Thu, Aug 30 vsMinnesota 7:00 PM

The Texan offense is more interesing to me than the defense this year... Will be keeping an eye on how the new O-linemen, the young receivers and the backup QB's (TJ, Beck, Keenum) do...

I guess everyone has seen the preliminary preseason depth-chart
http://www.houstontexans.com/team/depth-chart.html

See if they all get to play against Carolina?

I guess WR's and CB's are what I am most interested in for right now on the first game

I'm curious to see the development of T.J. Yates. Heard good things about his progress in camp.

I am as well. It will be very interesting to see if he has taken a big step between the two seasons.

I can't believe this all starts again tomorrow. It's almost too good to be true.

Absolutely. I love to talk about the Texans and argue the days away, but I still get almost giddy about gameday.

We need some team in this town that doesn't stink worse than the B.O. at Gold's Gym when the AC breaks down.

Texans to kickoff (Graham)...

Panthers down the kick in the endzone so Panthers ball at their 20.

Rashad Butler mistake #1:

Went for the cut block on that last redzone pass...didn't work...forced Shaub to get rid of the ball early.

Graham is credited with a 20 yard FG.

Texans to kickoff.

Panthers bring the kickoff back to their 29 but flag on the play. Block in back against the Panthers puts the ball at the Panther 10.

2 series for the defense...2 three and outs.

The defense is looking pretty good. Kareem is looking good early on.

Oh no, Foster fumbles after about a 10 yard gain and the Panthers recover about midfield.

Play is under review......

Excellent cutback by Foster...good thing its preseason...take care of the football though.

On another note...good to see KMart downfield blocking on that run.
