But for NE, Tebow interest might make sense. 1. They showed prior interest and just added the guy who valued TT even more than them. 2. Belachik would not be scared off by fan sentiments. He does whatever he wants and has no accountability to his fan base at this point. Not to mention no NE fan would ask for him to play anytime in the next 5+ years. 3. The arrogance of Belachik/McDaniels matches up with what a coach would have to think of his coaching skills in order to think he could teach Tebow how to play QB, 4. The creative appeal in having a piece like that and figuring out how to use it. 5. Plus Belachik LOVES players with roster flexibility. He regularly deactivates good players who don't fit the week's gameplan (even starters). To not have to carry a 2nd QB would be very appealing. 6. If they did want him Mallett is gone anyways. I am not saying it happens, but the deal makes a certain sense in both directions. |

Some Denver fans are thrilled at the idea that Tebow fanboys might leave town now but then others reminded them that now they'll be replaced by Peyton fanboys.
Same circus. Different clowns. "Cut that meat! Cut that meat!" |

Not only was there talk that Bud wanted him and his front office didn't, but he also put out a media ultimatum of sorts by saying "There is no reason our front office guys can't get him." So he managed to screw over both his QBs (which really means he has none), his new front office, and there FA plans all because he wanted a new toy.
And Jim Harbaugh did the same thing in SF. I wonder if all of those SF guys will run through walls for him after he declared his support for Smith publicly and then privately became the "mystery" team going after Manning. I also wonder how it affects the confidence of the no confidence QB that he managed to prop up with good coaching last year. Way to go Peyton. You haven't played a snap in a year and a half and you are already shredding the competition. |

5 years, $96MM.
So much for that incentive laden contract the talking heads were talking about initially.... Broncos fans better hope he is healthy. Edit....maybe he did give them an out. Year 1 $18mm gtd. Yes 2 and 3 gtd. at $20mm per IF he passes a physical after next season. Haven't seen any particulars on the balance.

Don't be too sure. Tebow, as a starter, was 9-7 during his Denver career, including playoffs. When Tebow didn't start the last two seasons, Denver was 4-13. They were awful in many ways beyond quarterbacking and yet Tebow got them to the playoffs and beat the Steelers.
Not to mention, Jacksonville is his home turf where he is most likely to find his comfort zone with fewer of the distractions of most major cities. The old ownership wasn't too hot about Tebow but the new owner - Khan - is (I'm sure he sees Tebow as a cash cow like none other but so what? As an owner, what's so bad about making money?). However, the front office is more sold on Gabbert. But, as the Bud Adams saga shows, sometimes what the owner wants becomes the priority. Last edited by HPF Bob; 03-20-2012 at 10:59 AM. |

Looks like Tebow is going to the Jets for a 4th-rounder. Looks like New York has their second Jeremy Lin now.

Yeah, Manning's deal is essentially year-to-year, with each year becoming fully guaranteed once he passes his annual physical, the only exception being next year, when years 2 AND 3 go guaranteed if he passes.
