Texans talking to Dorrell about QB coach vacancy Karl Dorrell was head coach at UCLA from 2003-07. (Stephen Dunn/Getty Images)Coach Gary Kubiak is talking to Karl Dorrell, the Miami Dolphins’ quarterbacks coach last season, about replacing Greg Knapp, who’s the new offensive coordinator at Oakland. Dorrell coached wide receivers from 2000-2002 at Denver, where Kubiak was the offensive coordinator. Dorrell was UCLA’s head coach from 2003-2007 before moving to Miami. He coached receivers and quarterbacks during his three seasons under Tony Sparano.

Saw some tweets from Alan Burge, and apparently, this is the 2nd time Kubiak has tried to hire him. 1st time was prior to Knapp, and he was denied permission (still under contract).
Whatever. As long as we don't have to play a 5th round rookie, we'll be OK.

I know one 5th round rookie who is now a sophomore in the NFL, that I wouldn't mind seeing at QB. Of course Mr. Yates now has a year under his belt and with and with a TC, along with the under fire experiience he has now, I would feel a lot better if Shaub should get hurt again.
