Yeah, there's just been no consistency from year to year. Seems like it is a different group every year, especially in the secondary....I don't think there's ever been an older vet to pass the baton to the younger guys.... Maybe once when Aaron Glenn passed it to Dunta... But who did Dunta pass it to? They just haven't had many players that come in and hold a position for a good number of years....

Mario is a 5-year "vet" yet just 26 years old. DeMeco, the same... After that, where's the experience? A Smith and Cody probably qualify but not many more...

I don't get caught up in age too much, but our brass does.

If the dude is 30 and can still play, sign him.
If he's a rook and can play, play him.

Of course, we have yet to do either....but that's another story.

What it demonstrates is that Smith and Kubiak have no idea how to assemble defensive personnel.
