Clearly this evaluation of Yates indicates he's got anything but a big-time arm, so guess I'm mistaken about that. FWIW though, after the Texans took him the ESPN crew was talking about the pick and former TB QB Trent Dilfer raved about him, his potential, and actually said he had "Tony Romo-like" skills. But he went on to say he'd be a project but sure seems to be convinced he could have an NFL future ?

I'm guessing we are going to draft OL with our final pick or take a flyer on a WR. I'm giving up hope for a NT.

Not sure if I'd put that commendation as a positive; Dilfer always seems to be infatuated with mediocre quarterbacks. Project much?

I think we need to keep in perspective that this was a 5th round pick projected to become a back-up QB. They all can't be Tom Brady.

On another note....Jerrell Powe is taken by KC. So, maybe Ian Williams from N.D. or Chris Neild from WVa.

That "Mr. Irrelevant" pick is gonna be worth alot more this year. With the lockout in place, teams can't sign UDFA until it's resolved. If a team wants a guy that has fallen, they're gonna have to draft him to make sure they get him. Otherwise, they risk losing him to another team.

Wonder what its worth to some teams, maybe a 5th next year???

Pimp that last pick Kubes!!

Cannot trade, it is a compensatory pick.

Only O'Dowd is left. Schilling just went to San Diego, and Love went earlier to Minny.

Ah....then I suppose O'Dowd is my guy to play OC then.

McElroy gets selected at #208 to be the backup to Mark Sanchez. So, perhaps the Texans were afraid their backup would not make it down to #214 and went ahead and pulled the trigger on Yates in the 5th round. Without the 6th round pick...I can see the logic if they went into the draft wanting to address the backup QB position.
