I'm going to guess Fairly will be taken higher in the first round than the Texans will be. Watching Nevada's great comeback over Boise St. last night, there was a smallish DE by the name of Moat or Moak who was dominating Boise's OL last night. I don't think his size will hold up in the NFL but he looks like he could easily convert to a blitzing LB. If he's a senior, I wouldn't be surprised to see this guy in the second or third round.

Sounds like Von Miller, the smallish Aggie edge rusher, who's only 'bout 240 ?
I'd love it if the Texans went to the 3-4 next year, and I could see it happening if the old man tells Kubiak he can keep his job but he (McNair) is gonna tell him who his DC will be. These small, quick pass-rushers can often find a home in the 3-4, even in the NFL.

I believe Dontay Moch is who HPF Bob is referring to...a smaller, faster type of DE which could translate well in the pro's- maybe a 2nd round talent but could move up if what I've read is true about him possessing 4.24 speed Right now though, I prefer Von Miller over Moch.

Nick Fairley is a beast, I've said it before on this board. I really like him and am starting to think we might have a chance to get him if he's there around the 13-16 picks. I agree that he's a little streaky, but he's already better than what we have in the middle right now.

I've been hearing that the left side on the Wisconsin O-line is one of the best in the last 20 years and I'm starting to agree considering how Wisconsin is dismantling their Big Ten opponents by 50+ point margins. We might want to pick up one or both of Gabe Carimi OT, and John Moffit OG, considering our own left sided woes.

I still think our secondary is priority #1 , but if the value isn't there in the first or second round, I have no qualms addressing the D and O-line first.

I would love for us to go 3-4D next year. But Smithiak better trade up to get Fairly because the nosetackle is the linchpin for a 3-4. I have been high on that guy all year. And of course Frank Bush would have to go. How about Wade Phillips for DC?

I see Fairly as a DE in the 3-4, we have a couple of those right now. Currently, I do not see any NTs worth a 1st round pick in this draft. There are a couple guys who could be 2nd rounders and lower round types in this draft.

But IMO Fairly will be best served in a 4-3.

I'm sure you are right PK, however I think Fairly would be worth trading up for in the first, and that is definitely new for me to say that.
