Default C. J. Spiller

Wow! Can anybody actually fathom the idea of C.J. Spiller being available at #20? Where are those fans who wanted Reggie Bush as the #1 pick a few years ago? Can anybody remember when Devin Hester was drafted? He was #57. Some compare Spiller to Chris Johnson, but I'd say a better comparison is to Carolina's DeAngelo Williams (5'9" 217lbs)who was drafted #27 he had 1100 yards last season. Spiller is 5'11" 196lbs but he could add bulk with losing quickness. The thing is, we still would need to draft another RB like Gerhart or Dixon. If we draft Spiller, Slaton is done.

Thing is, unless we know that Slaton is done or cannot return to 2008 form this is a dubious pick. Gosselin's first mock is usually based on availability and not necessarily on who he thinks we will take, kinda like BPA. Or that might be his second and the 1st is based on 'need' can't remember exactly. Any way, 3rd is what he thinks will really happen. I hope it changes.

Thanks kRocket, I was trying to remember how his system worked ? Now what I did hear was that he's gonna do 3 mocks this year (2 in the past I believe ?), so I'm guessing this year he does the BPA & Need ( or vice versa, whatever), then the third one is the First Round scenario he predicts for the 22nd.
But is example of the Jets drafting a corner in the first after adding Cromartie to Revis is my favorite "say what !" pick ?
29. New York Jets:
Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers
Jets need a shutdown corner

Yes Nunusguy, he will do 3. The third will come out the morning of the draft and is usually the one that he uses all his inside information to generate. I read that in the DMN site in his own words. I can't remember the order of the first 2 and I am too lazy to go look it up but, it doesn't make too much difference since neither is truth. Oh, and trades leading up to the draft (like today's trade of Holmes to Jets) will certainly alter the first round choices. There are still a few RFA's out there to sign also. Some are 2nd round tenders. I don't think Pitts is totally out of the picture but, he may not be signed until he passes a medical well after the draft so that could change our later rounds choices. It all makes my head swim.

If Spiller were there I would not be shocked to see Rick Smith take him. Was he not going to take Ted Ginn back in 2007? Miami snagged him first which looked good for us, but Amobi has to turn it on next year.

Why?
Spiller is too slight, and too much like Slaton to begin with.
