I would doubt that Marshall ends up here. A player who has acted like a turd in Training Camp, feuds with his coach and brings baggage is not a Texan fit.
Love his talent, hate his attitude.

That being said, why give up a very valuable asset to pick up a highly paid player with huge character issues? We have a team with several serious holes, and reciever is not one of them. It makes no sense. To me, even as speculation this trade isn't very interesting, because I would put the chances of it ever happening at below two percent. |

Maybe if we get Marshall we'd lead the league in passing!!! Oh..What?...we did that? I'm thinking our resources are better off spent elsewhere.

It's hard to argue that the addition of such a talent would not be an improvement to our team. That said, the combination of his attitude/off-the-field issues, the cost of acquiring him, and the cost of keeping him makes this highly unlikely, at best.
I'd rather sign TO to a one or two year deal. |

![]() As for the definition of rumor, I get: 1 : talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source 2 : a statement or report current without known authority for its truth ...which seems applicable, but I went ahead an updated the tag anyway. I certainly don't mind idle speculation and rumor in the forums, in fact I encourage it to a reasonable extent since this is sorta like an online barroom, so long as it is described as such by the OP (which he did, thanks btw). Also worth noting, the trade deadline is still in effect until the end of February, so even if the trade parameters were being discussed, it wouldn't be finalized anytime soon. That said, with the uncapped year on the horizon, expect far more trades than has been the norm since the dawning of the cap era. |

Why? We are overloaded with receivers and TE's now. What would we do with another one?

The reason is because we need to always figure out ways to get Andre Johnson the ball. When Owen Daniels went out we had a little bit of a difficulty because we didn't have a secondary GO TO receiver. There shouldn't be a such thing as having too much talent. Yeah we were number 1 in passing but as we all can figure in this league nothing should be taken for granted. Additionally Brandon Mashall coming here opposite Andre Johnson should be something that should intrigue him because the possibilities and potential is limitless with an offensive guru of a coach, very decisive and intelligent QB, and the greatest receiver in the league lining up om the opposite of you. I would definitely welcome the idea and would personally feel bad for defensive coordinators who had to gameplan against us especially if Steve Slaton has a comeback year, we get another stud running back, and if Arian Foster can compliment them. Actually I'm getting more and more excited about the idea as I'm typing this. Hope it happens.

Right, it's not that we wouldn't like to have Marshall on the team. So long as he'd come over for free and play for 2nd wide receiver money, I think that almost everyone's on board. The problem is the opportunity cost to get him. Of all the positions we could upgrade, WR is the last one that comes to mind.
