It won't be any loss if Moats get the bulk of his playing time and if Foster finally gets some playing time so we can see what he can do. Hell, maybe Foster has a nice touch on a lob.

I hope Steve gets whatever treatment is needed and is ready for next year. Hopefully this "sophmore" slump will motivate him.
I hope Kubes gets some touches for Foster. I want to see him tote the rock a bit. I know they need to be comfortable with him in pass protection, but there are so few audibles in this system that at least for a game or two, you think they could script a series for him and he could get some carries as long as they stay on schedule.

What a difference between this year and his outstanding rookie season.
I dunno, maybe additional ammo for any agruments Kubiak might have for injuries being a primary contributor to this disappointing year ? |

The way he has played this year.....whatever.
I am with you guys, it sure would be nice to see Foster get some touches. I can't fathom the thought of watching Brown be the main attraction for the last 4 games of his career, errr this season. Updated info from the Chronic: The Texans (5-7) have three running backs on the active roster: Chris Brown, Ryan Moats and Arian Foster. They also have Chris Henry on the practice squad. Coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday that Brown will start against the Seahawks and that Foster will replace Slaton in the rotation. For some strange reason, they just don't think Moats can cut the mustard against anyone but Buffalo......Curious. Last edited by WMH; 12-09-2009 at 01:21 PM. |

I think they know what they have in Moats. He is a just a guy. He will have a role, play ST, get some garbage carries. They like Brown in Pass Pro, so he gets the nod. Foster will get the chance to see what he can do, from the sounds of it.

We never used Slaton properly. Had to use him in screens and short passes like Westbrook. Then, when we'd run him, we'd run him up the makeshift middle of our "offensive line".
Slaton will be fine, just make sure to play to his (and our team's) strengths |

I wonder whats in store for Slaton next year. Certainly next year's new coach will put emphasis on the power running game and i dont think he will have Steve Slaton as part of his equation.

Maybe not as big a part, but I'd be surprised if Slaton were out of the equation altogether. Even in that type of situation there'd be a need for a third down/change of pace back.

Slaton is a big playmaker. I hope he returns healthy to help us next year.

Can't fumble while you're on IR.
Seriously, I hope Slaton bounces back. I've always felt he was miscast as an everydown back anyway. |

Something tells me we may not be running a ZBS and won't need a 'cut and up-field' running back as badly next year. They may convert Hill to a lineman, maybe RT, and let Winston move to RG, IDK. But changes are coming I think. Meyers, of course, might be a casualty if this comes to be.
Slaton may become a good third down option. |
