Man, that sucks for Pitts. He was one of the good guys.

Burge had a couple of things to say about this:
http://www.examiner.com/x-778-Housto...out-his-future
"We knew Chester was having surgery today but the Texans were not reporting on the extent of the injury. I was holding onto hope that Pitts would be able to make it back somehow, since prior to today all we were hearing was MCL and not ACL. But microfracture surgery means there was damaged cartilage meaning the recovery can be quite lengthy.

Pitts is 30 years old and in his 8th season. He's in the last year of his contract and will still pocket his $4.38 million this year, even though he's on injured reserve.

This injury means Pitts' career is in a bit of a crossroads. If the Texans don't sign him to an extension before March of next year - something that seems unlikely now - he will become a free agent."

I didn't realize this was the last year of his deal. Bad timing for a good guy, as I am sure he would have been given a healthy extension. Hopefully, Caldwell can start getting up to speed faster than he has, as we are a couple of wrong turns away from being in big trouble in the O-Line, and we all know where are running game is right now.

Best wishes Chester, and speedy recovery!
