I can't wait to see Barwin rush the passer, and Quinn and Nolan in the Secondary. Is Chris Brown hurt yet? Maybe he could show me that he can run the ball.

Austin viewers can catch the game on KNVA (cable channel 12). I don't believe it is available in HD, for those who care.

I'm also hopeful that Shaun Cody looks good today.

![]() I love that Bawin got that sack against KC's #1 pick last year and 2nd year starter, Brandon Albert. That little fake spin move he did locked Albert's legs all sorts of up as we saw. Definitely a created sack, not a hustle sack. |

Okam, nice to see ya big man. Jacoby Jones is on thin ice. Casey looks like a player, not sure about the other TE Quinn. Dreesen should have a slot.

Postgame writeup.
http://www.inthebullseye.com/archive/2009/20090815.html Pretty satisfying game for a preseason opener. I keep trying to remind myself that this is the Chiefs, who are opening a new era, with new leadership, a new quarterback, and a new defensive scheme. Even though this came on the road, the weather conditions removed the fans from the game, making it almost a neutral field. But enough realism. Schaub went 7-7! Barwin got a sack! Okam was effective! Chris Brown walked off the field healthy! Hooray! btw, fwiw, Grossman was apparently pulled due to a hamstring injury, not because he looked like ...well... Grossman. |

The chron tweeted some of the postgame injury updates. Severity unknown... stay tuned.

Barwin's sack was nice, but his play against the run and his smarts in sniffing out screen plays and getting his hands up make me think he can be far more than a situational pass rusher eventually. He may be in his 2nd year at DE, but he is not a project. He's a football player. Just one whose many talents made it hard to find him the best position on the field.
And Bob, let me say that didn't see one ounce of Jason Babin in him. |

The best news is that there were no major injuries and what injuries there were did not happen to key players. Nobody's going on IR due to last night's game. You really have to cross your fingers in bad conditions like that but the field held up remarkably well which tells me George Toma is still on the case there in KC. |
