His groin injury was still sore enough that he was not taking part in the minicamps however, assuming he can pass a physical, I would suggest the Texans sign him. I was skeptical of his abilities coming out of UT but he showed that he could fit the Broncos system which is very similar to ours and, when healthy, he can run downhill and make that cut back that RBs in our system have to have to make the running game work. He's from Houston, is not a problem kid, knows the basic offense, can pass block, catch passes, certainly won't cost as much as Ahman Green and provides insurance for Slaton. He also has some kick return skills.
He doesn't have goalline strength to dependably score in short yardage so he ought to be viewed more as a back-up than a specialist. But given the likelihood Slaton gets dinged sometime during the season, having a back who can step in and start is a good thing to have.
