Other than Vickers and Dreesen, you saw the Texans find replacements for practically everyone they cut or traded to get under the cap. We have three OLs to replace Briesel and Winston. We have Mercilus to replace Mario. We have Bullock to replace Rackers. We have Bradie James to replace Ryans. We also added two receivers to eventually replace Walter and Jones.

Now, maybe they don't completely replace what we lost but it's the best that can be done and stay under the cap. Looks like a good job to me, even though I might have opted for some different receivers and linemen. I trust the Texans know what they are looking for when they hand in their card.

I would have preferred they bolstered their secondary but they drafted two corners early last year who might still develop. The rest of the division upped the ante by adding some top receiving talent in the draft. JJo is going to need some help back there.

Overall, this looks like a good unit to defend our division title and carry us into the playoffs. In my mind, we should have been in the AFC Championship Game last year if Schaub had stayed healthy. Yates wasn't so bad but we missed that veteran savvy at times that should have pushed us past the Ravens. We might have also been playing that game at Reliant if we had played better down the stretch.

I agree with Bob, I think Rick Smith has done a wonderful job this off season. I like this draft as a whole. He traded down, he grabbed some projected 2nd day guys on the 3rd day. He let the draft come to him. Nice job!

A week or so before the draft, Bob McNair had said that the team needs were WR2, bolstering the OL depth, bolstering the LB depth, and adding some more depth to the secondary.

Rick did most of this, only omitting secondary. Our secondary has good depth at safety, a lot of youth at CB that has to mature fast and produce (talking about Harris, McManis and Carmichael).

And of all my mocks this year, I think they only took one guy that I had down, the kicker from A&M, farmers fight!!!
