I hope that does the trick because we are going to need what Chris Brown can Bring to the game during the season. Giving the devil his due, maybe Chris is just not used to this unusually hot, humid, Houston heat.

The average temp for this time of year is 95, so I guess we have been a little over for most of the last week, but before that we were right on the average.

Not so many years ago, teams used to do outside practices when the heat was in the nineties and the hot sun was burning down. Now that we are doing only mornings outside, the Texans are finished outside before the temps get out of the eighties.

Looks like it won't be very hot tomorrow, but I doubt there will be a practice.

this applies to more than you would think. i marched a drum corp for 3 years and we would usually practice in 3 blocks: morning, afternoon, and night if there wasn't a show. mornings were the grind, afternoons were too hot to spend just baking under the sun so we usually found shade to keep practicing, and back out for the evening sun. in high school we had several days per season where the state shut down after school activities (band, football, etc. but probably not in that order haha) because it got too hot.

anybody who knows anything about houston knows that humidity is the real killer. dry hots aren't exactly fun but everyday as soon as i step outside i feel like i just jumped into one of those little-kid-plastic-ball rooms: uncomfortably warm and borderline wet.

does anybody else have a car temperature gauge? i know mine is f-ed up because when i get in it always says "109" until about 15 minutes into the drive it starts to fall.

Is that the average daily temps (24 hour averages) or the average highs?

That's the average high. Personally, I really don't think Houston is hot this time of year except for the worst hours of the day and unless someone is involved in a physical activity. I water my garden about seven or so every evening and to me it is quite comfortable. If there is a nice breeze it is even better. But if I was doing wind sprints I'm sure it would be pretty bad.

Your correct about the evening being OK. I have gone to the Miller Outdoor Theatre for the last couple of years and it is quite pleasant. And after thinking about it, August is the hottest month, with late July usually the start of the really hot stuff.
