Potential HC hires is worthy of a separate thread, but I would not be in favor of hiring Zimmerman. Like Wade and Dom, a guy who is at his best as the DC.

And if the Texans hire a defensive guy to be the HC, they better darn well hire a really strong OC to go with him. Because of this, I might lean again toward an OC-type as the next HC... seems easier to plug-n-play the DCs in the league nowadays. A new HC is going to bring a new QB... they're going to be here 3+ years. I don't want another Dom+Carr type pairing starting off.

Wade would probably be a strongly considered candidate if he wanted the job, but hiring him would make the OC hire super important.
