Yes, the ball did go downfield again, even if it didn't work. That coincided with when the running game started to work again. But then we just stopped running it and found new ways to lose.

The Texans just aren't a very well coached football team. We have a solid scheme and talent, but nobody to lead them. The head coach cannot be a cardboard cutout like Jim Caldwell unless the QB is Peyton Manning. We have a whole bunch of nice guys. That is different than good or bad. You don't need criminals to win football games, but you do need someone who will do what it takes. Someone with an ego big enough that they will cut anyone's heart out to win (an ego big enough to publicly endorse Uggs even).

We are the Chargers from earlier this decade. Plenty of talent, plenty of success offensively and defensively, lots of success, but when it comes down to it, never going to win when it counts. I wonder if Kubiak will get to stick around through as many 9-12 win seasons as Norv Turner did. That way he can finish wasting AJ like Norv wasted LT.
