Any reason at all to give this guy a look? He probably want Pace type pay and hasnt played in almost two years. But when healthy, he was among the best in the league. Is he a Gibbs kind of guy, or just another Boselli waiting to happen?

Sure why not, give him a shot, but not at Boselli money. That move cost us 2 years of maturation.

We are OK with Meyers. We do not need to pay a large sum of money to a man who has questionable wheels. If he was healthy and had played the last year, I still would question his fit with Gibbs system.

he's 6'2'' 309 which if i'm not mistaken is about what we're looking for but in finding that measley morsel of information i also happened to read this and immediately thought "no thanks"

2006
After backing out of an unofficial agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles[2], Bentley signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2006, and was regarded by ESPN as the top-rated free agent.

Bentley suffered a serious knee injury in training camp on July 27, 2006 during the first play on the first 11 on 11 training camp session. Browns general manager Phil Savage has confirmed Bentley suffered a torn patellar tendon, which kept him out for the entire 2006 season. Bentley revealed that he had undergone four operations since getting hurt, the final two to clean out a staph infection that ate away at his tendon and a virus that became so severe that doctors considered amputating his leg.

I would say no way.

I dont know what went on up there, but they gave him a big contract and he got hurt. They kept paying him for 2 years and as soon as he passed the physical he wanted out. Neither Bently or the team has come out and said what the deal was and why he was granted the release so fast though, so no telling.

Add to that what KJ3 posted and definately not.

and so far he's backed out on an unofficial agreement with the eagles and now nix on the browns even though they stuck with him through dark times.

that's the kind of free agency that kills sports for me. he'll probably get a huge deal somewhere....but hopefully not here.

on another free agent note, anyone think we may give ced benson a look?

My understanding is that he was being kept by the Browns as insurance on all the OL moves they made since his injury. He's looking to start and he wasn't going to in Cleveland. Personally, I think he's done.

In regards to Benson, no.

Benson is a never going to land in Houston player. He may be lucky to land anywhere if the league does implement its policy to reprimand both the player and the team when players messup.

Casserly & Capers cost us two years of development, not Boselli.

From 2003-2004 we had 19 draft picks. I think we have 3 left. That's what I meant.

Doug Datish was released from the Falcons. I liked him from Ohio St. so, I'm wondering about how he'd fit here. Wasn't Gibbs associated with Atlanta's OL?

He was a Gibbs guy in Atlanta and his days became numbered when they decided to go a power scheme.

He might get a shot here, especially if the in... Not going to say it. Giving him a look would not be all bad.
