The Lions have had a decent enough quarterback for a while now. Their ownership is clueless and when you have a mope like Matt Millen spend the better part of a decade running your organization into the ground with breathtaking stupidity, well, we all see the results. Such as one of the greatest players at his position in history deciding to call it quits in the middle of his career.
Of course that's happened twice to the Lions just in the past 15 years or so. Truly great players would literally rather not play at all than play for the Lions. |

If you want to be fair, the Jets and the Chiefs have not been to a Super Bowl since the NFL-AFL merger, a fact their fans never tire of hearing about.
![]() Plus, the only time the Oiler franchise reached the Super Bowl was as the Titans after they moved away so Houston, the sports city is oh-for-44 in reaching the Super Bowl. Hey, Buddy Ryan just died. Imagine who he's probably punching right now. |

What gets lost in people's joking about that incident is that Buddy was of course 100% right.

RIP Buddy Ryan. Certainly one of the memorable football characters and defensive innovator.

Texans came into existence in 2002, right ? So 14 and not 50 years is the time interval that's relevant for the Texans being compared to other teams
on this stat. |
