I call that the very definition of "snakebit". If both your offense and defense rank in the Top 10, you should at least be .500 and probably better.

I think stats are overrated, and I think the Texans season proves it.

Makes me think of the year Nolan Ryan led the National League in strikeouts and earned run average but his W-L record was 8-17.

The -11 turnover differential (tied for 29th) helps explain it. We know all too well about the offense's pick 6s, but the defense has been particularly unopportunistic as only two teams have fewer takeaways.
