Default Schaub signs up for 4 more years

Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has signed a four-year contract extension on a deal that now expires in 2016.

Schaub, already the franchise’s record holder in virtually every passing category, signed an extension for $24.75 million guaranteed, $62 million overall.

“I’m very excited to continue to make Houston our home,” Schaub said. “I’m happy to get it so both sides are happy about it.”

I guess that ends that discussion. Don't see where either had much choice. I don't think Schaub has the market value of the "elite" QB and I don't think Houston was going to find anyone better to replace him.

What does it say, if anything, that the Texans took care of Brown before they took care of Schaub?

Seems like a fair deal for Schaub and for Texans.
Keeps good consistency on the team.

And congrats to TIm Jamison on his extension as well.

Plenty more possible extensions.

I knew the Texans would keep Schaub provided he didn't get interesting. Jamison getting an extension almost seals this as the last year with the Smith.
