Default ItB.com Forum Upgrade

Just a heads up that our message forum will undergo an upgrade soon. The forums will be down for around 10 minutes while this happens. I might need to re-customize the look of the forums afterward, but just hold tight while the dust settles.

The goal is to run the most current vBulletin version available for security reasons. Also, the upgraded version will help me better manage new registrations, the majority of which I delete since they are spammers with no interest in football.

If you have any questions, please let me know via email. Thanks.

Update - I think the upgrade could happen sometime today, maybe even this morning. Should be down no longer than 10 minutes. TIA.

Hopefully it will go better than the last upgrade on the old site. IIRC, that was right around the draft as well and had everyone in a panic.

Yeah, the timing isn't ideal, but I think I have some solid vBulletin support now versus the old days when we (and more specifically Ric) really were on our own at HPF.

I'm just anxious to keep our version current. That's what killed us that one memorable time at HPF, we missed a security enhancement. I'm also swamped daily with spammers trying to register (our registered user count is legit... I see other sites that allow these bozos to register), and the newer versions do a better job of controlling that.

So hopefully it will get done quick and painless today.

One of the new features with the upgrade is the new social bookmarking capability (ex, link to your facebook). I'm not sure how much anyone will use any of these, but if there is one in particular you want me to add, let me know.

I also disabled the 'tag' functionality. If anyone thinks this is totally cool and worthwhile, let me know that, too.

Thanks!
