Default Rockets Center?

Seems getting a center is turning out difficult to get top FA's or trade, especially with the league refusing the trade with Lakers and Hornets.

Looks like for now just signed an UDFA, 20 yr old sophomore from Fresno State. 6'10" Greg Smith. Maybe he will develop quickly.

http://houston.cbslocal.com/2011/12/...ockets-roster/

seems 4 centers on team right now for training camp are
27 Jordan Hill C-F 6-10 235 07/27/1987 Arizona 2
Omar Samhan C 6-11 265 11/03/1988 St. Mary's (CA) R
32 Hasheem Thabeet C 7-3 263 02/16/1987 Connecticut 2

just remember with pretty much these players Rockets finished last year strong with like 18-7 record, so who knows how this year will be.

and just two preseason games, both with SA, starting this Saturday, 17th
Dec. 17 Sat. San Antonio 7:00 p.m.
Dec. 21 Wed. @ San Antonio 7:30 p.m.

Then first few regular season games thru end of year are @Orlando on 26th,
then a crazy back to back to back 29, 30, 31 Dec. home San Antonio, @Memphia, home Atlanta on New Years Eve.

So far new head coach, Kevin McHale is a media friendly type guy.

Sielig seems to be going out of his way to screw with Houston.

I'm thing Hill is the starting 5. The Rockets try to trade for another 5, but a trade probably won't materialize until the trade deadline.

I think I agree. Jordan Hill played pretty good in first preseason game last Saturday. Maybe he will mature to a reasonable player.

Thought Chase Buddinger and Terrence Williams did good at end of fouth quarter.

And three guys who could have been traded looked ok as well for short practice time.

They got an UFA, Dement, or something like that. Scores 8 points, and 8 rebounds per game. Better than what we have I guess.

Dalambeer looked pretty good at center in first game against Orlando.

"The Bear", Sam Dalambert, is doing good in the middle, getting rebounds and blocking shots and helping a lot on defense.

Overall, Rockets have won 7 in a row, in eight place in West, knocking Lakers into 9th position.

In the upcoming draft Rockets will have two first round picks, their own and Knicks, since Knicks are currently 5th worst team in leage by record, could end up being a high pick as it is not lottery protected this year.

And, time to vote for NBA All-stars, Rockets outght to get 1 or 2.

And Chandler Parsons, rookie, is getting quite a few minutes these days.

They are fun to watch it seems.
