Default DB Sherrick McManis, Round 5, #144 Overall

5'11" 195
3-yr starter from Northwestern
1st team all Big 10 last year

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1117294

aggressive team co-captain type with lots of game experience. Sounds like a trend.

5 picks this year, team co-captain, saw 6'1" one site, 5'11" another site.

I guess have to find out if Molden and Bennett good enough to stay or not.

Could be the FS to groom...

Quote:
Mike Mayock, NFL Network
144 -- Texans -- Sherrick McManis

McManis is a three-year starter from Northwestern with average speed that may project him inside to free safety. He had nine career INTs and adds value in the kick return game. Houston needs depth on the back end of their defense, and McManis is versitle enough to answer several needs.

We always address fs at the back end of the draft if at all. That is why its a revolving door back there of low talent late rounders. But hey. We have the oft injured Eugene Wilson who can't be counted on for an entire season ever.
