Wow, good work WMH....

Arkansas RB Dennis Johnson is a bruiser - saw him many times....

QB Collin Klein is a bit of a surprise, too....

Probably missed a couple. Pat was cranking out some info.

Pretty good haul, if these all turn out to be valid.

Like the RB haul a lot. That ND kid is shifty and Graham ran well post ACL.

Ceire Wood - RB - ND - Signed with the Texans too. Think they'll try Klien at TE?

I remember when we'd have to wait days to figure out who the team had signed. Now people just crank out the signing as they happen. Excellent.

I bet you the hit rate on UDFAs is not appreciably worse than the hit rate on 5-6-7 guys. So yeah, let's sign 500 of these guys and see what happens. Maybe one day Rick will find an UDFA that's worth a damn.

Red face

This year 86 players went to pro bowl. 3z were drafted in first round. Next highest round was UDFA and second round with 11 each.

So yeah UDFA are more important statstically than any round in draft but first two.

A 6'7" center? For the Illini basketball team I presume?

Separately, I wonder if the team is finding it easier to get UDFAs to sign with them now that they have achieved some amount of postseason success the last couple years, coupled with the stability of the front office and coaching staff, and not to mention the rise to riches of a prominent UDFA on their roster...

I like Wood and could see him taking over for Ben Tate is we trade him or if he signs somewhere else eventually. I think Klein wants to be a QB and refused to do the TE drills at the Combine ala Rich Gannon. Could he change his mind after not being drafted? Possibly..Or we take a big athletic QB and Practice squad him (the knock being not enough arm). I originally had him on my draft board after seeing him play thinking he did well on Boot Legs & Roll Outs. Raymond Graham could potentially fill the Forsett loss.
Zach Boren should be our FB.
I had Orhien Johnson as a UDFA target, so glad to see him signed. The same goes for Alec Lemon.

I like the Woods signing too. He should be a good fit for the system and addresses a need with Forsett signing with Jacksonville and Tate in the last year of his contract.

We need to fill the #3 RB position and also a #4 for camp. I wonder how Klein would do as an H-back type who could also play emergency QB (I guess OD could also).

I wonder if trading their 7th rounder gave them a head start on contacting UDFAs since they did not have to focus on who they drafted in the seventh. Obviously, it would be conditional until after the draft was over.

Zach Boren should also have a good shot to make the team if they keep two fullbacks. He's more of a lead blocker than a runner/receiver and could win a roster spot on special teams since he moved to MLB midway through his senior season and started four games. He could even get a look at ILB.
