Default Perfect NFL Roster

The 1st week of the NFL season is in the books. Both the Texans and My beloved Colts looked horrific in week 1. There is still much to look forward to on the Fantasy Football side of the house though. With so much attention being spent on selecting the best roster for a Fantasy Football team or even the weekly contests like FanDuel, I have spent some time looking at old drafts. Analyzing my old draft boards of who I liked and called "My Guys" over the years. I have come up with a sort of rule of thumb when it comes to measurables at the the Scouting Combine. Then, I ran across a cool article discussing the Perfect NFL Roster in terms of the Salary Cap. You can read it here :http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/sto...alary-cap-2017

That got me to thinking what a team could have looked like knowing what I know now. I sort of hybrid between cherry picking and what I would envision a team looking like if I were calling the shots. So, I went back over the last 10 years of drafts and considered what my blueprint would look like. I put a lot of emphasis on the Offensive and Defensive Lines. I want athletic QBs with leadership. I am a HUGE proponent of running 3 TEs and 2TEs in my formations to create mismatches. I want fast ILBs who can cover in space. I probably don't give enough emphasis to my WRs or CBs. I did not come up with a full 53-man roster, but figured I could probably sign some Free Agents to fill in those slots. I really just wanted to look at the meat, and came up with 47 players. I made an attempt to only draft 1st rounders not in the top 10, and only one player per round in each draft. I may have fudged a couple of drafts and selected 2 players in the 3rd round (but I rationalized it by saying that I traded down). This was just for fun and I thought that I would share it here.
