Default Pre-draft update from friend

Haven't heard from my friend with the team for a while. He's been kinda busy...

But...he did just send me this:

Quote:
Keep an eye on Jonah Williams or Tytus Howard.

Keep an eye on Clowney

I could see trading up as well.
I'm not going to bother him with follow-up questions...but the Clowney mention has got my eyebrows up. Extension? Trade? Just showing up for voluntary workouts?

Flowers, Ford, Lawrence, and now Clark all getting new deals. Houston and Clowney will have all details needed to get something done.

The Chiefs and DE Frank Clark are close to a five-year, $105.5 million deal with $63.5 million guarantees, per sources.

The other thing to consider is the return on the Clark trade (a 1st and a swap of 3rds this year and a 2nd next year) would probably be comparable to a return for Clowney...

JJ Watt just posted a thinking face emoji. Something's going on...

Multiple ways to read your friends message about Clowney.

One is that they are looking at trade offers. Which they should look at no matter if they intend to trade him or not, at least listen.

Two, they are close to a long term deal.

Either thing would not shock me. If Clowney is traded IMO it shows that they love Duke Ejiofor, and they Mercilus for insurance.

Signing Clowney, means they understand the trouble other teams have matching up with him and still dealing with Watt.

JJ could be thinking that he is underpaid now.

If we come away w J Williams and T Howard at the OT’s , I would consider it a major disappointment, no question. Howard is a huge project, Williams is decent, and wouldn’t mind him as a back up, but we could do much better in this draft.

I’m really hoping we take either Greg Little or Andre Dillard.

It's likely that Little will be on the Texans Board but Dillard probably will be picked much sooner than #23.

The "keep an eye on Clowney" comment was due to the fact that HOU offered him to KC about the same time they were finalizing the Clark deal. It was too late...
