Scott Wright's, Draftcountdown.com:

Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame

Although I have a hard time seeing this happen....

But It does show a fairly accurate scenario where all three of the blue chip receivers(Austin, Patterson, Allen) are off the board when it's time for our selection.

ROBBY ESCH from thehuddlereport.com - WR Keenan Allen California from 3.27
DREW BOYLHART from thehuddlereport.com - WR DeAndre Hopkins Clemson from 3.19

And the thehuddlereport.com did a 5 round draft machine mock dated 3.20 which had the Texans taking the following:
27 WR Cordarrelle Patterson Tennessee
57 S Jonathan Cyprien Florida International
89 OG Larry Warford Kentucky
95 LB Sio Moore Connecticut
124 WR Chris Harper Kansas St
160 DE Joe Kruger Utah

This would be a dream draft. However, I can't see it happening. We'd be extremely lucky if any of the first 3 picks he has listed for us are still on the board at our pick.

The CBS guys have updated their mocks but it just looks like the WR shuffle. Those who projected Hopkins now project Allen and those who projected Allen now choose Hopkins.

The Cal wide receiver was clocked by NFL Network's Mike Mayock at 4.71 and 4.75 seconds in the 40-yard dash at Allen's pro day Tuesday, confirming that blazing speed is not a quality he offers.

Even though he has been injured and therefor may not be in top shape, looks like Allen really lumbered thru his 40s at his PD, which only makes it more likely that he's there for the Texans if they want him.
Personally I prefer USCs Woods but am now expecting him to be off the Board at 27.

Supposedly, Allen tore a PCL during the season and, while the knee is healed, the muscles still need to get their strength back. I would guess he can probably be a bit faster but won't ever be a speed burner. Sounds like he could project to be like Eric Moulds, more big than fast with the ability to block out defenders and win jump balls.

Lance Zierlein has a new round 1 mock he is calling Mock Draft 2.0

Nice read, and he has the Texans going with :

Quote:
27. Houston - Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame: If the board falls this way, the Texans would have to strongly consider taking Eifert at this spot. Gary Kubiak and Rick Smith are from a system that has rarely valued the WR position as a 1st round pick dating back to their Denver days and I’m not sure that is going to change this year despite their massive need at that position. Eifert is a very effective pass catcher who would often line up split out at WR at Notre Dame. He’s more fluid in space than of the other TEs the Texans have, but he would need to convince the Texans he could become a serviceable blocker since they don’t carry TEs who don’t block at all. If the Texans were to draft Eifert, that would mean they could strongly consider cutting Owen Daniels after 2013 and clearing some cap space in an effort to get Brian Cushing’s new deal done and maybe even J.J. Watt’s. Safety is a possibility in this spot and I’m sure they will definitely have Datone Jones and Margus Hunt on their board as well since Antonio Smith’s contract is up after 2013 and both Jones and Hunt are good fits in Wade Phillips’ 1-gap scheme.
