Default Official Texans @ Cardinals Game Thread, 10/11/2009

Late start for the game this afternoon, only time the team has a post-3pm start the rest of the way this season, except for the Monday Night game against the Titans, of course. Doesn't mean all that much of the country will actually be watching though. Outside of Arizona and most of Texas, the nation will have their eyes on the Patriots and Broncos.

Seems like the makings of a shootout, so maybe it won't be. And you'd think we would get the best out of Antonio Smith in this game, so keep an eye on that.

OK, there is a lot of talk about how this will be a shoot-out today. Warner and Schaub are accurate and have over 1,000 yards passing thus far. Fitzgerald v. Johnson as to who is the best WR in the league is for water-cooler talk.

This game is going to depend upon defense. Can Connor Barwin get a sack today on Warner? Will Mario's shoulder limit his effectiveness. Can Okoye get penetration. How likely will our Secondary be able to pilfer an interception?

-Keith, we both started the "official thread" at the same time. So, I brought my post here.

You know what that means. A low scoring defensive battle. It never fails.

Wow! A penalty on the kickoff and a fumbled snap to start. Texans need a wakeup call.

For this to be a shootout the Texans have to find some bullets. After that gutless draw play call Arizona's going to march down the field and score another touchdown and will be well on their way to a rout. Next week the Texans are going to get abused by the Bengals.

If the Texans would just settle down they would be all right.

Wells for no gain.

On 2nd and 10, pass goes inc.

Dump to Hightower is close to the 1st down. Tis a 1st down after measurement.

Pass to Breaston good for about 22.

Pass to Fitzgerald good for about 8.

Pass to Fitzgerald good for 23. Ball at the Texan 23.

Wells for 1. 2nd and 9.

Pass good for 13 but flag on the play. Refs rule no flag. 1st and goal at the 9.

Wilson puts the pop on Boldin - Fumble! DeMeco recovers for 29 yards! Texans ball at their 30!

Red flag from Whisenhunt.....
